Four Seasons B&B is located in the centre of the Lakelands Region of Ireland. We are only a short drive from the Inner lakes of Lough Ree and the River Shannon, the longest river in Ireland. There are many wonderful walks in the locality and guests can enjoy one of the several River Boat trips, which depart from Athlone.

Local bus companies provide tour services to sites of historical interest including Athlone Castle Visitor Centre, the ruins of Moydrum Castle (as featured on The Unforgettable Fire of Ireland’s very own rock legend’s U2 ), Clonmacnoise Monastic site, Locke’s Distillery Museum, Derryglad Folk Museum and lots more.

There are splendid walks at Portlick amenity area on the shores of Lough Ree and on Moydrum Forest route.

The villages of Glasson, Ballykeeran and Mount Temple are within a few minutes drive of Four Seasons and there are many excellent restaurants and pubs in both locations. Our favourites include Wineport Lodge,Glasson Golf and Country Club, Glasson Village, Grogan’s Pub & Restaurant, The Fatted Calf Restaurant & Pub Portlick Castle, Dog & Duck Pub in Ballykeeran and Motte & Bailey Restaurant /Egan’s Pub in Mount Temple Village.

Guests, who prefer more of an urban buzz may enjoy the choice of excellentHotel, pubs, restaurants and theatres in the nearby town of Athlone. Annual events include the RTE All Ireland Drama Festival, theHSE Community Games National Finals, Triathlone, Athlone Literary Festival, Oliver Goldsmith Festivaland the Walderstown Road Race.

There is a wide variety of sports and leisure pursuits to choose from such as golfing in Glasson Golf Club,Mount Temple or the Athlone Championship Course with spectacular views of Lough Ree and the River Shannon. Neighbouring Athlone Equestrian Centre provides horse riding or trekking near Moydrum Castle. The area is renowned for angling on the shores of Lough Ree or on the River Shannon. 
Many of our guests have enjoyed an evening at the races in Kilbeggan or Roscommon.
